Welcome Home

Kat: Now I have the images of naked men burned into my retina!
Grim: They need to have at least 7 inches.
Mark: Grim, tone it down.
Grim: But mine...
Mark: GRIM!

Gabsy: Do you know how much sleep I'll lose if I break you?
Grim: None.
Gabsy: Exactly.

There was some nasty bug last night. I brought out something like six characters, who would get a team, and then when we would head into missions, we would crash. I finally gave up and put Dmitrius in the hot tub - naked - to await people to sign on.
Mark showed up, but he seemed distracted.  Dmitrius talked calmly to him while he still sat in the hot tub, and then Mark noticed he was naked.  He freaked, and Dmitrius chuckled over it.  "When you're on campaign," he says to Mark, "being shy goes out the window."
Dmitrius then mentioned to Mark discussing how to handle the Beast.  Dmitrius has his own Beast, and thought to give Mark some pointers on how he handles his.  For the most part, Dmitrius allows the Beast limited reign when going up against enemies, and when alone he lets him go.  However, when he's hurt beyond something simple - like when Ares dropped him in the fireplace, or he loses a limb - he goes feral.  Dmitrius follows the Road of Kings, where he believes that he is a superior being and his job is to protect the kine.
Dmitrius then tries to be nice to the Master Sergeant, proving to him that not all vampires are evil.  Morris may - just may - be warming up to him.
Switched to Grim because I thought Mark's player wanted him, but when I got back, he didn't mean tonight.  That's okay, I missed Grim.  I had it so that Lue had remained behind at home and Grim was just coming over to check in.  Kat was drinking wine, Grim was being his usual crass self, and Mark was talking to her.  Then Kat mentioned that bestiality seems to be par for the course with this group, and Mark says, "What?"  Kat explains that there's a human with a werecat, and that there's a human with a werelizard.  Mark takes offense.  Kat keeps on going.  Grim watches this whole thing, knowing Kat's in her cups, and Gabsy comes into the scene.
Kat then asks Mark if he loses control when he's doing "it", and then Mark punches her.  Grim jumps up to go pull him away, and Gabsy throws a fireball at them - Grim gets set on fire, entirely by accident since he was in the way.  Grim gathers the water in the air and douses it.  His shirt got caught, though.  Mark steps away, and Gabsy's readying another volley.  Rusty tries to step in, and Grim puts himself between Gabsy and Mark.  "Step aside," Gabsy warns Grim.  "Through me, first," Grim says, summoning his dark auras.  He's trying to get Gabsy to stop and think.  So long as he gets Gabsy to talk, he won't do anything violent.
Mark goes over to the fridge and Gabsy's going into how it's rude for people to hit other people to make a point.  Grim goes over and says to Mark that he should apologize, which he does.  So does she, for pushing him.  Grim says that Kat made a mistake, things happen - Mark takes off - Kat follows, and the rest of them think that the best thing to do would not to leave them alone.  They go to Mark's room.
Gabsy, in his usual diplomatic fashion, says, "Dr. Samuels, you have 30 seconds to open this door or I will break it down."  When he doesn't, Gabsy teleports in, while Rusty opens the door and walks in.  Gabsy puts up a force field, denying Grim and Kat entrance.  Grim says he can teleport Kat in there, but he can't go in there himself.  They're right outside the door, listening.  Gabsy has lost patience with Mark.  Mark wants Gabsy to leave, he won't, Rusty keeps trying to get him to leave, he still won't.  Kat finally gets him to leave.  Gabsy looks at Grim for a very long time, and the two don't say anything to each other.
Grim goes in and Rusty mentions that Mark can't do this kind of thing alone.  Mark says he hasn't - Kat, Raina, and Petite have been helping.  Then Grim says, "You're concentrating on your mind - you ever think that maybe it's your body?  You can't control everything."  Mark suddenly realizes that that might be it.  He tells them that he's travelled through dimensions to find stable versions of himself and asked them for samples of their blood.  He tried to break it down…and Rusty explained it best:  "He's cheating, looking at someone else's paper.  Problem is, they're not taking the same test."  Grim then suggests that maybe Mark shouldn't only look at the right ones, but the "wrong yous" so that he knows what NOT to do.  Mark says the best example was his Praetorian one.
Grim suggests they capture him and study him.  "Raina and Jack want to kill him."  So Grim suggests they hide him.  First he suggests the Sentinel's base - Rusty is down with that.  Then Rusty suggests Grim's place.  Grim seems to think he could hold him with help (really:  He could do it himself, but he likes to let people help if they want) - the ley lines are strong enough to provide the power to restrain Komodo.  Of course, they don't know if magic will work on him.  Grim's ready to try.  "We hold him down, take a few pints, and send him home with a Fig Newton bar." (The reference, in case you don't know, is that when you donate blood, there's usually a "recovery area" stocked with Fig Newtons and other sugary things.)
Lue then calls Grim (I had to go to bed) and Grim says he has to go home.  Grim still keeps the offer open - he'll tell Lue that they're going to get an unwanted guest for a short time, but he won't go into detail yet because he promised Mark he wouldn't tell anyone.  Lue will probably not be happy, not at all.
