"Go forth and piss off Hell." Grim to Devil-Shot Smith.
Grim was in the cozy library nook in the base when Lue came upon him. Grim was kind of staring out into space, thinking about what he had done that morning (story on aScripta). Lue asked him what he was thinking of. Grim told him what happened and said, "You know what the funny thing was? I didn't think that you would do something like that to me. You wouldn't sleep with someone else. That's the first time I've ever believed it." Then Grim did say that if Lue ever caught him he would totally deserve any punishment he was going to dish out. "I don't ever want to hurt you." Then Grim almost admitted to what he was thought of Lue when they first met, but someone yelled from the entrance, "Hey mage, you in here?" Saved!
Grim and Lue came out of the library to see Devil-Shot Smith. The gunslinger was distressed - he had gotten more powerful and was able to channel the fires of Hell more. Grim and Lue both explained to him it wasn't where the power was coming from, but how you use it. Grim illustrated it with his own life. Smith wanted Grim to look at the guns.
Grim took them upstairs and looked at them through mage sight. They were indeed evil, and the darkness was entwined throughout them. All the bullets were marked with auras, the seven colors of the rainbow. Grim called Smith an instrument like he was - except Grim was summoned to do his duty. Smith wondered if he was actually summoned to do things. Grim explained that maybe he was, maybe he just didn't realize it. "You don't kill innocents, do you?" Grim asked. "No!" Smith said adamantly, "Everyone I shot deserved it." The road to Hell is paved with good intentions? Far be it for Grim to admonish him.
The guns themselves were not possessed with a human mage's power, but the power of demons. It's not quite beyond Grim's ability - he could probably unravel the power from the guns. However, Grim feels that if he does, it'll destroy the guns and the man. The man so far isn't corrupted. Grim has faith that Smith will choose the right path. He may act badass, but Grim can see through that. If the corruption gets through, then Grim will reassess.
Also at the same time, Frigid Blue came around and Lue created a water sculpture of her (something Grim would NEVER have tried) and Blue froze it. Grim and Lue said that they'd do some research to help Blue control her powers better - she touches things and they freeze.
Blue also watched Grim look at the guns. Lue also looked at them, and from what he could tell, they were very old, probably before gunpowder even existed. Smith left, ready to "dispense some justice", and then Blue followed right after. Then Lue proved that Grim can dish things out, but can't take it.
Mase showed up at Havens, and there was a new person, StoneJoe (stone tank, natch). StoneJoe was dumb as a stump, and that scared Mase, because he thought that he would eventually turn into that. Jack suggested that he talk to Mark about it. Still not sure myself I want that to change.
I think tonight Grim will check in with Havens again and talk to Raina. But, you know, nothing ever goes as planned...
